OUR HISTORY
Our History
The Transfab Énergie adventure began in 2003, following the closure of FRECO which had been a leader in the tube boiler manufacturing sector in Quebec for more than 40 years previously.
In 2003, following pressure from employees, suppliers, customers and financiers, M Juteau decided to recover the assets of FRECO and create Transfab Énergie inc. By doing so, he acquires all of FRECO's expertise and reputation in the manufacturing and installation of pressure systems, whether for heating or energy production.
In 2013, the management of Transfab Énergie, out of concern for quality, implemented a quality control manual, which allowed it to obtain its CSA B-51 51 accreditation issued every three years by the RBQ. This grants the company the right to manufacture pressure vessels according to Section I, IV and VIII Div. 1 of the ASME code. In addition, we are currently in the process of CWB accreditation.
These certifications that Transfab Énergie possesses give it a competitive advantage highly sought after by several stakeholders and competitors in the sector and have enabled it to develop and offer a diversified range of products ranging from civil engineering to boilers (natural gas, oil), and pressure tanks (drainage, hydro accumulation, water heater, condensate), accessories intended for heating and process applications, and ensures the customer of product quality standards.
The products are recognized by all engineering firms in Quebec and Canada. Over time, Transfab Énergie has installed installations in a multitude of establishments, all with more different vocations from each other; whether commercial, industrial, in schools, hospitals, or government buildings, Transfab Énergie has been able to provide durable equipment of superior quality.
Transfab Énergie designs tailor-made products and systems to meet the needs and requirements of our customers. Concerned about the importance of sustainable development and clean energy, Transfab Énergie has developed cutting-edge expertise in the field of biomass combustion systems and electric boilers. For example, Hydro-Québec's new electrical conversion program ensures sustainability for the company in its choice to focus on green energy.
The main markets served by Transfab Énergie are commercial, industrial or institutional in the private and public sector. However, we are developing strategic alliances with distributors of small capacity pressure boilers in order to offer our distributors a range of biomass products varying from 30 to 300 kW for the residential sector as well as small and medium-sized businesses.
Between 2008 and 2015, Transfab Énergie participated very actively in several innovative projects for the industry, whether through the implementation in 2009 of a pressure system operating exclusively on biomass, designed and manufactured by Transfab Énergie inc., project required the investment of more than 200K in R and D. It should be noted that the investments made in R and D allowed us to improve our product and make it one of the best on the market.
In 2010, another project which gave us a technological showcase in the greenhouse sector in partnership with Serres Verrier allowed us to build the largest castle network in Quebec, operating from forestry biomass.
On the other hand, we had to slow down our projects due to the health problems of the president, Mr. Juteau, which began in 2013. The management team had to rethink its way of doing things in terms of sales and our presence on the market. market in order to ensure favorable positioning and optimal representation on Canadian and American territory. It was therefore after two years of negotiations that in October 2015 we came to an agreement with a major player in the field of HVAC distribution in Canada in order to ensure a favorable positioning, we signed a distribution agreement with one of the main distributors of great reputation in the commercial, industrial and institutional sector (private or public).
The Master Group covers the breadth of the Canadian territory and to establish itself throughout North America over a period of 3 to 5 years is one of the largest HVAC distributors in Canada, opening new territories to the company. This agreement ensures us constant visibility and representation in their territories and the possibility of intervening in each of the projects. In just two years of partnership, they have doubled their order volumes with us and we anticipate the same kind of progression for next year in each of their specific niches.
The company has participated in several flagship projects in these sectors; whether it is the technological showcase of Serres Verrier in 2010, the largest heating network in Quebec operating from forestry biomass; either the municipality of Rivière-Bleue in 2015 or the biomethanization plant of the City of Saint-Hyacinthe in 2016.
For two years, we have developed a turnkey approach that is modular and can easily be adapted to the client's needs, which ensures engineering support throughout the process and responds to the realities of the industry. It is the combination of expertise and audacity that constantly leads the Transfab Énergie team to push the limits and offer superior personalized service.
In 2015, the signing of a distribution agreement with the Master Group, one of the largest HVAC distributors in Canada, opened new territories for the company. In fact, this agreement allows Transfab Énergie to now be represented across 5 Canadian provinces, which was an objective of the firm's strategic growth planning. Since the start of this association in 2015, turnover has tripled in the distribution sales niche for Transfab Énergie.
In April 2017, this agreement was renegotiated in collaboration with Mr. Lacombe's group. It went from +/- 550k for the financial year ended March 31, 2017 to +/- 1.3 M. “Although we have just renewed our agreement, the Master group has made approaches to consolidate our respective positions for a period which would vary from 3 to 5 years. »
In February 2017 (signed in March), we reached an agreement in principle for the sale of Transfab Énergie's assets to a new group of businessmen represented by Mr. Stéphane Lacombe MBA, Adm-A. Since their arrival, a breath of fresh air and new dynamism have blown through our company.
In +/- two months with the active involvement of the new group, Transfab energy was able to build an order book of more than 1.5 million, compared to 500 thousand for the comparative period of last year, something which did not hadn't happened for several years. Nearly 40% of its orders come from contact with members of the new ownership group who wish to benefit Transfab Énergie from the synergy that their arrivals will create as well as the new business opportunities that this will generate due to the fields of expertise and everyone's contacts.
